Taras and Mariana Prokhasko’s Who Will Make the Snow comes out in Korean

26 січня, 17:40

According to the Old Lion Publishing House, the book Who Will Make the Snow by Taras and Mariana Prokhasko was published in 2013, and from now on this marvelous and instructive story about baby moles, friendship and mutual help, care and home comfort, as well as about those who really make the snow, can be also read in South Korea, where it was put out by Book&Bean Publishers. “For me, the publication of the book in the Korean language is a very important event,” Mariana PROKHASKO confesses, “above all, because it is the first translation of the ‘moles.’ It is pleasant and unexpected that the first translation comes out in South Korea, a country that is so far away from us, has an entirely different culture and language. I know that the Koreans take a keen interest in the rest of the world and publish a lot of translated literature. Naturally, I would like Ukraine also to publish more foreign children’s literature which is very interesting and multifaceted.”

It will be recalled that Taras and Mariana Prokhasko’s book Who Will Make the Snow won the competition “BBC Children’s Book of the Year 2013,” as well as was awarded the LitAccent prize in the nomination “Poetry and Prose for Children,” was ranked first as “Book of the Year 2013 in the nomination “Children’s Feast,” and was included in The White Ravens international catalogue. Earlier, the Agrafka literary studio of the Old Lion Publishing House had put out onto the world market one more book, Stars and Poppy Seeds, by Romana Romanyshyn and Andrii Lesiv. This book has already been published in France and South Korea. Argentina is next in line.
