Lviv is preparing for the 12th International Economic Forum

Strategy, Investments, Coope­ra­tion is the theme of the 2012 forum. The Day was told by Lviv Re­gio­nal State Administration, Lviv Re­gio­nal Council and Lviv City Coun­cil who are co-organizing the event in co­ope­ration with the Polish-Ukrainian Cham­ber of Commerce that the fo­rum’s participants would discuss the current economic policies and pro­spects for cross-border cooperation in Eastern Europe, analyze the current challenges and present management solutions that allow their users to be efficient and globally com­pe­titive. During the plenary session and four thematic workshops, the participants will also consider the issues of in­vest­ment and innovation in the field of energy efficiency and resource con­ser­vation, support for initiatives in energy efficiency and energy con­ser­va­tion in the context of the UN De­ve­lop­ment Program’s operation in Ukraine, cross-border cooperation between Uk­raine, Poland and other EU countries, problems and prospects of agribusiness in Ukraine.

The forum will be opened with Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Social Policy Serhii Tihipko’s speech. The participants will include former Latvian President Guntis Ulmanis, Deputy Minister of Economy of Poland Andrzej Dycha, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Petro Po­ro­shenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk, His Grace the Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University Borys Gudziak, Pre­sident of the American-Ukrainian Business Council Mor­gan Williams, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Ukraine Ale­xan­der Markus, Business Development Manager SAP (CIS Countries) Olga Pet­ru­senko, member of the Thu­rin­gian landtag Egon Primas, President of SMI Communication Joachim Metter, and President of Europe-North-East Society Jacek Piechota.

The 12th International Economic Forum “Strategy, Investments, Coope­ration” will be held on October 12, 2012 in the media center and the confe­rence hall of the Arena Lviv sta­dium. The Day will cover the event in the upcoming issues.
