A “rubber-style” girl
The Kobzov Circus’s performer won the silver medal at the International Circus Festival City of Latina in ItalyThe event brought together professional circus performers from around the world, representing Hungary, France, China, Ukraine, Taiwan, the USA, the Czech Republic, Spain, Russia, and Cuba. The Kobzov Circus’s performer Tetiana Bielova was Ukraine’s representative at the contest.
Members of the jury had a hard time determining the best of the fantastic stunts... Contestants astonished the public by the numbers of performers involved and quality of directors’ work, exemplified by skillful performances of the Chinese acrobatic team Icarian Games, 80-person-strong Dzhigit Riders team led by the Zapashny brothers, and the Guinness record-winning Hungarian juggler Kristian Kristof.
Tender Ukrainian equilibrist Bielova, who was the youngest contestants, being only 15 years old, presented a stunt with no special effects, but its virtuosity won the hearts of judges, who, enchanted by her performance, unanimously awarded the second place to the girl.
“Young and concentrated, the Kobzov Circus’s equilibrist performed her stunt standing on her hands for four minutes. Bielova’s muscle stretch is ideal, and the stunt is performed in the so-called ‘rubber style.’ By the way, she has already performed at the world’s most famous circus forums. She won the silver medal at the Monte Carlo Festival this year,” the Kobzov Circus’s PR manager Anastasia Levinska told The Day. “Once again, performers from our country provide global proof of Ukrainian circus maestros’ enormous creative potential.”
“The International Circus Festival City of Latina is the only yearly circus festival in Italy and one of the most prestigious such events in the world, along with the Monte Carlo Festival,” director of the Kobzov Circus Union and a jury member for the Italian festival Mykola Kobzov stressed. “The City of Latina forum was first held by the Giulio Montico Cultural Association in 1999. Its founder was a famous circus figure and a scion of a prominent Italian circus dynasty Giulio Montico, who organized the festival to honor his ancestors. The festival takes place in a custom-built venue, the so-called Circus Village, offering everything necessary for performers and public’s convenience. It saw contestants from 120 countries this year, making Bielova’s silver a worthy prize. Remember her name, as the girl has a huge potential!”
