Plants and flowers art

For the first time the Chocolate House hosts an exhibition of a florist artist, who despite her disability (blindness) is engaged in creative work and makes her own pictures. She makes her works with love and sincerity. Iryna Borodiuk creates her pictures using flowers and plants and tries to hide in each one of them a unique storyline.

Compositions and color schemes are chosen in a fine manner and visitors can hardly imagine that the pictures were made by a blind artist without help of an assistant. There is an impression that the artist has some inner sight.

The exhibition in the Chocolate House is timed to the Independence Day of Ukraine. The main picture of the exhibition is Ukraine Independent: Bordiuk got an idea for creating it when she was listening to the song “Nich Yaka Misiachna” (Moonlight Night) performed by the famous singer Kostiantyn Ohnievy. The main theme of the exhibition is “Art, No Matter What.”

“I have no way of seeing this world. But I did not become a hostage of my disability. Every day of my life is filled with art work. And with this exhibition I want to show people that we must overcome ourselves, we have to always move forward, despite the difficulties and obstacles,” says Iryna BORODIUK. “Ideas for pictures come from my memories. Hands feel the texture of material. I try to create images that would fill the soul of a visitor with love for life and people. I love various flowers and especially cornflowers, poppies, daisies, and sunflowers. I also use ears of wheat in my compositions.”

Borodiuk lost her eyesight five years ago but she did not give up and did not lose the meaning of life. Art helps her in this. Last year the first exhibition of her works was held. Since that time her pictures have been on display in various halls and galleries. The artist has participated in contests and won awards.
