After a long break, as well as for the first time at the “Green Sofa” art gallery, Nina Buriak opened her solo exhibit “Offseason” on March 13.  For this exhibition, she created a series of abstract associative paintings in the winter-spring offseason. The artist was mostly inspired by the state of nature in its diversity, poetic beauty and a subdued color scheme. The artist says that, according to the laws of abstract painting, she creates under the influence of a deep intuitive wave. In general, she perceives her work as an integral energy stream that suggests a certain mood, action, attributes and structures that are subtly drawn in color and texture.

“To do this kind of art, Nina Buriak has, in addition to her talent, extraordinary artistic professionalism and freedom gained in the years of work in the field of fine arts,” says Olesia Domaradzka, owner of the “Green Sofa” gallery.

Nina Buriak is a brilliant representative of the 1980s and the 1990s artists. At that time the artist was active in staging exhibits both in Ukraine and abroad. She worked both in painting and in graphics. Folklore and modern traditions in combination with abstract compositional elements in her work had a great success. Her works are displayed in many Ukrainian museums and private collections in Ukraine, Canada, the US, Austria, Belgium, Germany, etc.
