Love to fatherland through native landscapes
National Taras Shevchenko Museum presented Anastasia Fedorova’s solo exhibit
A young Kyivan artist creates landscapes, realizing the eternal themes, such as grand and everyday things, amorousness and beauty, in an abstract way. The exhibit “Love forever” is a summary of an entire stage in Anastasia Fedorova’s creative work. These pictures have taken part in numerous international exhibits and projects, including the 9th Florence Biennale in 2013; New Faces in Art, an unofficial program of the 55th Venice Biennale-2013; the International Art Exhibit “Days of Slavonic Art in Berlin”; the project “Passaggio in Laguna” in Italy. The museum exhibited the artwork of the young artist within the framework of the project “Discovering New Names.”
According to the organizers, Fedorova’s canvases “embody the entire world, filling it with extremely sincere feelings and emotions that overcome the borders of dull routine and indifference, and make the audience plunge into the exquisite world of the artist.”
Her pictures reveal a cycle of stories: from routine sketches of ordinary motif behind the window and the beauty of Ukrainian nature to travels across the exotic places of the planet, and to top it all – they lead us to the intimate-emotional summit: the revelation picture Eden. Amazingly, the artist managed to convey the story of human relations, turning to the only genre, landscape. The exposition “Love forever” did not include genre pictures, portraits or nude pictures, but even an ordinary motif behind the window was able to tell about the inner world of the author, reveal her passions and inspiration, and show the most subtle and most intimate feelings.
At the exposition the audience could see Mirror Reflection. Mezhyhiria, Ukrainian Renaissance, Winter in the Mountains as a tribute to the author’s true love to the beauty of her homeland shown in different seasons. City life in the everyday paintings of the view from her window in the pictures Sunny day after rain, The beginning of autumn, A snowy morning. Bright oversea landscapes call us to adventure in the fairytale faraway lands, where there is always a carefree, sunny, and joyful atmosphere: Anastasia shows to us wonderful Trulli, Sahara. Between Tunis and Algeria, and Vancouver Faraway.
The gem of the exhibit “Love forever” is a story of love shown through abstract generalization and metaphor, deep combination of colors which is extremely exciting, and beautiful and sensual pastose painting. The canvases An amazing night, Trembling love, Masculine and feminine, and finally the only figurative picture Eden bring us to the enchanting exuberantly flourishing paradise garden of happy idyll of love.
These days we rarely see pictures that are able to bring the audience back to optimism and cheerfulness, cure and restore the harmed structures of our souls, burdened with the war, politics, economy, and everyday stress. Namely love, stability, and fundamentality of eternal values are able to cure our hearts: give us power to win in the name of peaceful and really happy future.
