I Root for the Home Team – the best photo of the summer

Millions of soccer fans worldwide will remember soccer battles in Ukraine this summer for a long time.

Euro-2012 was a good opportunity for Ukraine to once again open itself for the civilized world. In June the whole country practically lived inspired by soccer.

Therefore, the topic of The Day’s summer photo season “Euro and I” was very topical. The best photos of this season were chosen by The Day’s readers on its website.

Thus, according to the readers vote, the photo made by Kateryna Samoilenko I Root for the Home Team won the contest. Samoilenko is the winner of the summer photo season.

Pavlo Palamarchuk with his photo What a Bally Nuisance won the second prize. And the third prize went to Marichka Iliina for her photo Euro – Holiday for the Whole Family.

After closing the summer season The Day launches the new, fall season of the national photo contest!

This time we invite amateur photographers to focus on the creative imagination of charming beauty of bright fall. The topic of the new photo season is “Fall Vaudeville.”

Fall can be light, fun, and comic. It can overwhelm with optimism and inspire creativity. Like vaudeville, fall consists of spectacles which are different every night, as if they were unrelated acts.
