Fortepiano for two

MOON IN THE SKY / Photo by the author

That is how Larysa Okhrimenko and Tetiana Falina decided to call their exhibit.

The latter defines her technique (which features embroidering with gold or silver and weaving) as painting with threads.

The vernissage took place in the Workshop gallery in the Artists House.

Larysa Okhrimenko uses the alias “Forte” in her appearances. Her sculptures (tinted papier-mache) are amazingly emotional (Conductor, My Angel), often grotesque (Prima Donna), sometimes — pitiless and at the same time incorrigibly bitter (Grief for Juvenility, Autism).

The painting with threads by Tetiana Falina is extremely decorative, masterly, and keeping the warmth needlework. It suits, as it turns out, very complicated compositions (A Song about Love, In the Garden I Was Braiding Blond Plait).

Landscapes by Tetiana Falina (Moon in the Sky, The Sun Is Going Down, Growing Dusky) are very interesting, expressive, and plain attractive, but her still life is especially good — extremely laconic and refined (Fall Still Life, Red Vase, Breathing of Spring, Branch, Snowdrops).
