Wedding Deluxe
The autumn is the traditional wedding season. However, aside happiness and joy, this event entails many troubles. The Wedding Deluxe Project was established by the Ukrainian Fashion Week, and took place for a fourth time this year. It presented bridal gowns, fir designs for brides, wedding lingerie, floral hairdos, and jewelry. Silver tableware, banquet serving, floral embellishments for ceremonies, Japanese pearls, and handmade confections were also exhibited. It should be noted that such events have long been held in many capitals around the world. The Ukrainian organizers set themselves the goal to meet European standards by involving the best professionals from various branches of the wedding industry: jewelry, floral arrangements, catering services, honeymoon organization, festive clothing, and invitation preparation.
Within the framework of the Wedding Deluxe Project the famous designer Angela Lisitsa presented her own wedding dress and a special bouquet of flowers: a large-size white cart with floral compositions inserted into it.
The designer’s wedding included such original constructions. It is not very easy for a fiancee to pull a cart full of flowers, but the burden can be made easier by giving the bouquets away to the guests, which Lisitsa advised.
Designer Oleksii Zalevsky showed a man’s view on what a wedding bouquet should look like. Indeed, the two bouquets he created were truly original and possessed a “male” character. A white-and-yellow cube was his first composition. It looked like a little TV set on a leg. Zalevsky made the second one right on the podium. The floral composition A Gaze resembled a 30-cm-long piece of a flowerbed placed on a wooden stand, and the bridesmaid was supposed to wear it on her hand like a glove. Zalevsky additionally decorated fresh grass with white roses and bluebells.

“Classics will always remain classics, but this year’s peasant-type dresses with lace, embroidery, and ruche are fashionable in Ukraine at the moment. Also, many bridesmaids wear gowns with ethnic motives, modeled on the national attire.
“However, Ukrainian wedding fashion still lags behind European trends. It is common to put jewels on the dress blindly, and people believe that the more stones and glitter, the better and more luxurious the gown is. Conversely, global brands producing wedding dresses keep within the limits when adorning them. Wedding attire designers choose restrained pastel colors, as they are guided by the principle: the more the author works on the dress, the less decorations the latter needs.
“The task of the designer creating the bridesmaid’s image is to make her attractive, not vulgar. A bridesmaid should look innocent. However, in my opinion a piquant note is not out of place.”
