The organizers have decided to call the forthcoming concert Grand Ballet Gala “Stars Only!” This type of soiree, with talented dancers from different countries being invited, is very popular with the foreign public. The mastermind, organizer, curator and one of the performers is Viktor Ishchuk, the leading actor of the company of the National Opera of Ukraine. He is known far beyond Ukraine’s borders and frequently goes on tours (both with the theater and individually).

During his entire career Viktor, a wonderful dancer and winner of various international ballet competitions, participated in many concerts. His incredible natural bodily lightness, combined with brilliant education and technique, make him dominate in any performance or concert. His jumps take the viewers’ breath away. It seems that there is no gravity for him. His artistic skills and expression on stage are hailed with applause. Even the jury of the 2005 Moscow Competition, in which Viktor Ishchuk and Natalia Domracheva won the gold, could not help shouting “Bravo!” after their inflammatory “Tarantella.”

In the Kyiv concert he will be an organizer for the first time (Ishchuk will present the classic program together with the Small Art production company from Moscow headed by Sergey Molchanov, the art director of the project). Irina Surneva (prima ballerina of the Imperial Russian Ballet), Nerijus Jushka (leading soloist of the Latvia National Theater), Maria Semeniachenko (soloist at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater), and Yelizaveta Cheprasova (soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre) will bring their art to the public. Ukrainian ballet will be represented by artists of the first magnitude. Among them are Olena Filipieva and Serhii Sydorsky, the leading soloists Natalia Domracheva, Olha Kifiak, Khrystyna Shyshpor, Ruslan Bentsianov and also the young but promising actress Kateryna Metiolkina (National Opera dancer). The concert will include fragments, adagio, pas de deux from The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Scheherazade, and Flames of Paris, accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the Kyiv Municipal Opera and Ballet Theater and conducted by Oleksii Baklan.
