Solomia Krushelnytska in memoriam

Lviv celebrates the 140th anniversary of the birth of Solomia Krushelnytska (1872-1952) – singer, whose success on the world stage was the success and recognition of Ukrainian culture, music, and art in general.

The 12th Opera Festival launched in the city. Leading singers from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Germany, Italy, Uzbekistan, and the United States take part in the festival. This was in the report of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater press service.

The program of the festival includes opera Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini, soloists: Manami Hama (Italy-Japan), Honored Artist of Ukraine Mykola Shuliak (Kyiv), People’s Artist of Ukraine Conductor Vasyl Vasylenko (Donetsk); opera Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, soloists: opera diva of European stage, a native of Transcarpathia Georgina von Benza, People’s Artist of Ukraine Eduard Srebnytsky (Dnipropetrovsk), winner of international competitions Andrey Valentiy (Belarus); opera A Masked Ball by Verdi, soloist Tetiana Busuiok (Moldova).

The closing of the festival will take place on November 17 – it will end with a big gala concert, where the audience will get a chance to hear Georgina von Benza (Germany), Andrey Valentiy, Ramiz Usmanov (Uzbekistan), Konstantin Rittel-Kobylianski (Germany), former Lviv resident Ivanna Taratula (USA), and Joanna Wos (Poland) singing. Art event is organized at the expense of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and Lviv City Council.
