In memory of James Mace

13 February, 00:00

I would like to thank you for publishing Natalia Dziubenko-Mace’s message to us (“Political sabbath on a grave,” The Day, no. 4, Tuesday, 6 Feb. 2007). We must all defend James Mace, his cause, and his book on the Holodomor from encroachments, slander, and abuse on the part of communist MPs, the kind that Tsybenko came out with, especially considering that this took place at the Verkhovna Rada. I support the idea of bringing this matter to court.

I would also like to ask the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on Ethics to have the parliamentarians duly assess the slanderous speech made by MP Tsybenko. Defending Mace’s cause means defending our history, ourselves, and our future.

I bow my head to Mrs. Natalia Dziubenko-Mace in appreciation of her courage.

My opinion is supported by my sister Viktoria and my friends.

— P.S.: I would like to thank The Day for carrying articles by I. Losev, V. Panchenko, Yu. Shcherbak, O. Pachlowska, I. Dziuba, and I. Siundiukov. I wish you every success. I keep reading and enjoying your Ukraine Incognita column.
