1637: Rebellious Cossacks and peasants, led by Pavlo But (Pavliuk), are defeated by Mikolaj Potocki’s Polish troops in the Battle of Kumeiky.

1917: Sovnarkom adopts a manifesto to the Ukrainian people, actually an ultimatum to the Ukrainian government, to the effect that Russia will declare war on Ukraine unless the stated requirements are met within 48 hours.

1919: Red Army units enter Kyiv.

1922: The All-Ukrainian Executive Committee adopts a decree establishing the Supreme Court of the Ukrainian SSR.

2004: PACE meeting in Paris issues a statement to the effect that those responsible for falsifying the presidential election results in Ukraine must be brought to justice.

2004: Ukraine’s creative figures support the anti-separatism and united Ukraine campaign by staging the social project “Noted Ukrainians,” involving pop stars, journalists, athletes, and actors, coming up with the video/audio clip “Together Forever.”
