The film Cyborgs, telling the story of the heroic defenders of the Donetsk Airport, has got its theater release extended until mid-March, Media Detector reported, citing the distributor company Ukrainian Film Distribution (UFD) which is distributing it.

This is due to the picture’s release in the HD format, which has made it possible to show it in cinemas that are not equipped for the DCP digital format. That is why the number of screens has also increased. The fact is that not all cinemas in Ukraine have equipment needed for showing films in the DCP format, so releasing the film in a different format will allow it to be shown in more cinemas. It primarily applies to cinemas in small cities.

“Since the end of January, the tape has been shown in HD due to high audience demand. The release is likely to be extended to mid-March,” the UFD stated.

Let us recall that the film was released on December 7, 2017. The TV premiere of the movie is scheduled for February 20, 2018 on the 1+1 TV channel. Currently, the movie’s box office amounts to 22.5 million hryvnias, and it has been watched by 309,000 viewers! Incidentally, it is planned to screen Cyborgs abroad as well, in particular at the UN.
